At the heart of Avalen sits The Bull Pen Bar, a beautiful and characterful space with a story of its own. The centrepiece is our huge handmade granite bar, crafted using leftover granite from the original buildings here at Avalen. It’s a lovely way of bringing a piece of the farm’s history into your wedding day, combining the original character of the barns with a relaxed, modern feel. Your bar comes fully staffed for your wedding day, so you and your guests can sit back, relax and enjoy the celebrations. We offer a great selection of local drinks, including wines, beers, ciders and spirits, with a particular focus on showcasing some of the fantastic producers we have right here in Cornwall. We’re also proud to serve a selection of handcrafted spirits from our friends just down the road at Colwith Farm Distillery, including their range of award-winning Cornish spirits. From your first drink of the day to the last orders on the dancefloor, The Bull Pen Bar is all about great drinks, friendly service and celebrating everything we love about Cornwall.

Avalen, what a beautiful venue. We had our wedding at this family run venue a month ago and can’t recommend it highly enough. All the staff were so helpful and friendly, good communication throughout and allowing us to decide last minute if we were having the ceremony outside (good old British weather!). All our guests have commented on how amazing the venue is and how smoothly the day ran. The bridal suit is stunning and the perfect place to get ready for the big day. One of the highlights and unique nature of having our wedding at Avalen was that we were able to plant an apple tree the day after the wedding in the orchard. We look forward to going back in years to come to visit our tree! Thank you to all at Avalen for helping to make our day perfect.

If we could give more than 5 stars, we absolutely would! My husband and I got married at Avalen on 1st June and honestly it was the most incredible place to get married. As soon as we saw the venue, it had my heart and I knew I'd marry my bestfriend here. The staff are so genuinely kind and caring, and truly support you every step of the way to ensure your day is perfect They also allow you to make the venue completely your own and accommodate your wishes! They liaise with any supplier brought in and take so much stress out of the wedding morning. I have never felt so chilled as I did the morning of! Not only this, but the venue itself is simply stunning. We had sunshine and inside and out was stunning. A massive thank you to every single person involved at Avalen. Oh lovely Avalen - we don't really know where to begin. Avalen was the first and only venue we saw. As soon as we arrived on site we knew that nothing was going to match up and meet our needs as perfectly as they did. Not only is the venue absolutely stunning with every detail thoroughly thought through but the gorgeous family and extended team that run the show are what makes it. Their organisation, communication and everything they did behind the scenes made our day so special and stress free. Not only did our guests comment about the Avalen being "one of the most beautiful wedding venues they have seen" but they all commented about how warm and friendly the team were.
