A courtyard of traditional barns, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, have been restored to create a unique Cornish wedding venue. Four generations of a local farming family have been involved in the two year project to transform the historic barns, which were formerly part of the Lanhydrock estate, into an unforgettable place to hold your special celebration.
Tucked away in 100 acres of farmland, Avalen nestles in amongst rolling countryside and rambling hedgerows. These beautiful set of barns have been sympathetically converted to retain their original beauty and charm, creating the most perfect, romantic, wedding venue. The central courtyard for games and socialising, can add another dimension to your celebrations which will be exclusively for your use.
As a family run business we are proud to be able to offer that personal touch, helping to craft a unique, flexible and relaxed occasion for you and your guests. We are registered to hold civil services at the farm, or you can choose to have a celebrant – or just hold your wedding reception here. What ever your ideas, what ever the size wedding, we offer the blank canvas and help to personalise your perfect day.

Avalen, what a beautiful venue. We had our wedding at this family run venue a month ago and can’t recommend it highly enough. All the staff were so helpful and friendly, good communication throughout and allowing us to decide last minute if we were having the ceremony outside (good old British weather!). All our guests have commented on how amazing the venue is and how smoothly the day ran. The bridal suit is stunning and the perfect place to get ready for the big day. One of the highlights and unique nature of having our wedding at Avalen was that we were able to plant an apple tree the day after the wedding in the orchard. We look forward to going back in years to come to visit our tree! Thank you to all at Avalen for helping to make our day perfect.

Avalen was the most beautiful venue for our wedding in August’ 23. The team did an amazing job on the day and in the build up to the big day to ensure everything went smoothly. It was great to have such quick responses by email or phone if we had any queries, this helped to ease the nerves and made it the perfect day we wanted.
The buildings and grounds are beautiful and it was lovely to have the space to choose how we wanted the day to run. The ceremony room provided the perfect intimate setting to share our special day with our family and friends and the barn had plenty of space for out wedding breakfast.
The Cart House honeymoon suite is delightful and it worked so well for the bridal party to stay the night before.
